Event Time and Date
On Thursday, February 23, we will be shining a light on modern day slavery. Modern day slavery is any type of human trafficking, including sex trafficking, forced labor trafficking, and organ trafficking. Sex trafficking is one of the most prominent types of slavery that is happening in Milwaukee, and we want to spread the word that slavery still exists today. We will be tabling in the AMU on Wednesday (Feb 22) and Thursday (Feb 23) to spread the word that human trafficking exists right "under our noses." February 23 is "Shine a Light on Slavery" Day, and all around the world, people will be showing their support in the fight for freedom for the estimated 20-45.8 million people by putting a red "x" on their hand. This red "x" can strike up conversation about human trafficking, so put an X on your hand and when someone asks you about it, let them know that it's to raise awareness that millions of slaves are still being bought and sold.
